Yin Kong Tsuen, adjacent to the Long Valley wetland and Sheung Yue River, is in the northeastern New Territories. Yin Kong Tsuen and its expansive surrounding are situated in a low-lying area. The abundance of water resource has fostered prosperous rice cultivation and fishing, and nourished generations of the Hau clan. With a history of over 900 years, Yin Kong has experienced countless changes. Back then, Yin Kong Tsuen was once known for brick-making; it was also praised as the \u201cRice Granary of Hong Kong\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, in the face of the decline of agriculture, Yin Kong Tsuen started to change since villagers were prompted to move out or to support their livelihood with alternative professions. Most of the farmlands in the village have been reclaimed by the government for management, and some farmlands have been converted to industrial use, such as open cargo yards, vehicle repair shops, and parking lots.
